OJT
- is a valid means of
providing short-term training for a particular job in an actual work
setting. An employer teaches a qualified worker with a disability
the special skills needed to perform the job. The worker is given an
opportunity to demonstrate employee potential and to achieve job
competency for placement upon successful completion of training.
The expected outcome is placement with
that employer or with another employer in the same or related field.
It is understood that during the OJT the
employee will be placed on the company payroll and be covered under
Workers’ Compensation, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance,
Minimum Wage Law, and other usual company or plant benefits.
Training fees: Training fees to
employers will not exceed the amount paid to the employer in gross
wages. Fees will be based on the employer’s normal entry level
wage for the job being taught.
Training Fee Payments: A sliding
scale for training fee payments from VESID or CBVH to the employer
will be arranged.
